Ayumi looked up silently as her 'mother' called her name. Smiling softly as she saw her 'sister', the lithe teenager straightened her back and bowed gracefully to the elder geisha. Walking calmly down the stairs, Ayumi smiled softly to the visitors and knelt at the table with Shisuto as one of the servants lit the incense, beginning their time for the night.
Turning to visitors once again, Ayumi and Shisuto both bowed and thanked them for allowing them to entertain them for the night. Turning to the nearest female, Ayumi asked her about the sword at her side, beginning a lond-winded coversation about swords and about how they'd slice her open if she even tried to touch it. Inwardly, Ayumi wanted to take the sword and stab her, knowing full well how to weild a weapon. Looking around from the corner of her eyes, Ayumi saw two other women in the room.

In the far corner of the tea house sat a woman who's face was hidden behind her ceramic cup; left hand on the handle and the other resting the base against her smooth palm. She breathed in the relaxing steam with a wide smile, then took a sip. "Delicious!" She exclaimed, loud enough for the entire building to hear.
The woman sat the cup down on the table in front of her and leaned back into the cushioned velvet seat, crossing her legs and shutting her eyes. Coupled with the ever-present smile on her face it made her look like a fox - a generally untrustworthy creature. However, nothing about this woman seemed untrustworthy.

Ayumi
Ayumi smiled and laughed at the exuberant woman, her small hand covering her mouth in an attempt to stifle her laughter, and was only half successful. Ayumi bowed to the woman next to her and walked to the other woman, kneeling down next to her, glad to escape the other woman who was VERY close to getting a punch in the face.
"Hello..." Ayumi asked, smiling softly, "I take it you are enjoying the tea?" Ayumi asked, teasing slightly.

The woman's fox-like countenance looked up at her hostess and nodded happily, picking up the teacup again and inhaling deep the warm steam. "I just can't keep my hands off of it," she exclaimed, taking another drink. "You have a lovely establishment," she continued, not yet putting down the teacup; content to simply bathe in the scent. "I might have to become a frequent customer!"

Ayumi blinked then blushed, shaking her head slightly at the rapid-fire compliments. The geisha tried to explain that she wasn't the hostess and that she wasn't the owner, but her face was so red, she was afraid to speak. After calming herself down swiftly, Ayumi shook her head and laughed softly.
"I'm afraid I don't work here, or even own this lovely place. I am merely a geisha that the true owners asked to come entertain their amazing guests." Smiling, Ayumi held up the rest of the tea, "Do you wish for a refill, or do you simply want to bathe in the scent for a while longer?"

The woman nodded exasperatingly and handed the empty teacup to Ayumi, her smile lingering still. "Yes, please! And when you come back, maybe you'll let me bathe in your scent s'more!" The woman began to laugh hysterically, gently sliding her fingers on Ayumi's hands as she handed over the cup, simultaneously her new courtesan friend a wide, toothy smile that made it difficult to tell if she was being serious or not. Regardless, the tea was positively scrumptious and a fresh cup would make her already lovely day even moreso.

Ayumi smiled back at the woman, not minding the attention, as she poured a bit more tea for her, making sure to leave a bit of room at the top so the tea didn't spill all over the table or their clothes. Handing it back to her, Ayumi leaned over to the woman, whispering slightly.
"I have to say, I am thankful you brought attention to yourself. You saved me from that other woman; she was quite annoying, and you are much better company." Even though it was normal for a geisha to say outrageous lies to a customer to get their spirits higher, this was a full-blown truth.

"Brought attention to myself?" The woman parroted, then shrugged and happily enjoyed another sip of delicious tea. "Well, you're quite welcome, I guess!" The woman slid over to the adjacent chair and patted a seat for the lovely geisha. "So, do tell me, was it you who made this tea? If so, I think I might be in love with you," she said coyly, then laughed again. She didn't stop laughing before she attempted taking another drink, which caused her to briefly choke and sputter the hot liquid across the surface of the table.
A moment of silence past before the woman started her childish laughter again. "It's very good tea! So good I think it might be too rich for my body."

Ayumi blinked as she was shoved into the now-open seat as a servant quickly cleaned up the table and disappeared, all without a warning. Ayumi shook her head and straightened out the part of the kimono the servant had been leaning on before looking up. Smiling Ayumi answered the previous questions.
"No... I couldn't make tea as good as the tea here if I had been taught how to make it." Smiling, Ayumi glanced up in time to see her sister light another stick of incense; the owners had asked for four incense sticks of their time, so they were going to be here for quite a while. At this point, Ayumi didn't mind so much, as she was having fun for the first time in quite a while. "I have been told, however, that this tea is good for the body." Ayumi mock-scowled, "Have you been treating yourself right? This tea would likely only be rich for your body if you were lacking a mineral or more." Ayumi smiled softly to show that she wasn't angry or anything, just teasing.

"Well, unfortunately, I don't drink much more than water, and rarely eat anything but bread," the woman admitted, still sporting her fox-y smile. She began to itch her cheek with a tinge of blush, obviously embarrassed about something. "See, I don't have much money. I do odd jobs to get by but I travel allot. The only reason I was able to afford this lovely establishment is because I recently won a standing-on-one-leg contest."
The anonymous woman took another hum-drum sip of her tea. "So why do you work here? Not that being a geisha isn't a honorable profession but..." The woman looked deep into the eyes of her host, an intensely magical stare that was uncharacteristically serious - almost sad - for the previously upbeat and perky samurai. "...Well, tending to the whims of petty, money-grubbing men all day can't be your idea of a good time." As quickly as it left, her fox-y smile returned.

Ayumi blushed and looked down, her eyes averted. Hearing of the other woman's misfortunes made it clear to her that, despite the way she had lived before becoming a geisha, she still had it better than most others.
"Well...." Ayumi began, trying to find the best way possible to word a short summary of her past. "I'm only a geisha today because my dear onee-san - Shisuto-onee-chan is the other geisha that's here - saved me from being sent to jail. I followed her when I was young, and I was suspected of being a stalker or something along those lines... and she defended me by saying I was her ill maiko." Ayumi smiled softly, shaking her head gently. "See? Nothing special." Ayumi smiled, then frowned, trying to think of something she would rather be doing than being a geisha. "The only other thing I can think of is..... to travel and live my life to the fullest. Maybe, if I'm lucky..." The geisha blushed, "I'll fall in love with someone."
