Andra blinked as he spoke, and then her brain seemed to be working. She sat there for a minute, looking at him, blinking, and then shot up to her feet. "How scarce it is?!" she exclaimed. "Why is their food scarce!?!" She seemed to not like the idea of any village in her domain with a scarcity of food. "I think we need to work something out..." Andra stated, trailing off thoughtfully. "Which village is this...? I don't remember hearing a complaint about there not being enough food..." The Shogun wore a frown, trying to remember when she had heard of a food shortage in any of the surronding villages. She looked at Renzukan and Kinshou.

"Settle down Andra-chan. It's sort of a voluntary poverty thing. Food is only scarce because they choose not to grow more than the village needs. They have plenty to live on and it's a rather lively place. They just don't like to waste anything around there. Kinshou seems to like the people there a lot too. I think it's because he can wander through the village without being attacked by a mob of frightened men." The bear sat and snorted, confirming Renzukan's thoughts on the matter. The samurai placed his hand on the back of the bear's thick neck, ruffling the fur there as he glanced at his mistress. "I'm sure they would be honored to have the shogun in their village. What do you say we go make their day with a quick visit?" A soft, yet mischevious, smile would accompany his words in an attempt to seem like a little kid trying to get his way.

Andra blinked and then nodded slightly thinking over the voluntary poverty thing. "Mmm... Okay. Let's go there," she said, leaning over to kiss Kinshou's head, though she then moved to place a soft kiss on Renzukan's cheek as well before winking and giggling to go on towards the village, only to realize she had no idea where said village was. "Come on, Renzukan! You have to lead the way!!"

Renzukan turned away from her the moment her lips had touched his cheek then left his skin, hiding the inevitable blush that was to follow. He kneeled directly in front of Kinshou and glared into the bear's eyes. 'Kinshou, after we get to the village and you've had a decent meal, I want you to start sniffing around for a place to spend the night. I don't want to travel back to Kyoto after dark if it's just going to be the three of us.' A soft grunt was enough to confirm the bear's understanding and compliance with his instructions. With that, and the sound of his Mistress's voice, Renzukan turned and jogged lazily to catch up with her. Kinshou followed behind, dipping his head down and thrusting it between her legs, lifting her onto his back as elegantly as any bear could manage. "It's a few kilometers west of us now." the samurai stated.

Andra squealed lightly whenever she felt Kinshou's head, but then giggled and put her head on his, watching as they walked. "Thank you, Kinshou-kun," she said, giggling slightly. She looked at Renzukan and smiled. "Okay! Lead the way and Kinshou-kun and I will follow," she said, scratching behind Kinshou's ear. She was having a lot of fun with the samurai and the bear, regardless of it being her first time ever being this close to a bear at all. He was a sweet bear. She was getting attached to him.

Renzukan did as he was instructed, leading the bear and his shogun out of the small woods and to the village. He couldn't remember the village's name, actually, he didn't think the place had a name. He smiled to himself when the small shack-like buildings came into view. "It's good to be back, isn't it Kinshou?" he asked the bear, his eyes still darting from side to side for anyone or anything that might pose a threat to his charge. He had not forgotten his duties, even if she had distracted him from them for a little while. His first priority was always going to be her safety. Kinshou's would be the same now, seeing how much his human brother admired the female.

Andra lifted her head whenever Renzukan spoke, and blinked. Regardless of the self-imposed poverty, the village was beautiful. She gasped lightly and then swiftly seemed to just appear beside Kinshou, no longer on his back. She could easily remind anyone who saw her of a small child who had just seen snow for the first time.
"Wow..." she whispered, her voice barely audible. Though she normally kept an eye out for anything around her, she wasn't paying attention just this once, which proved how much she really trusted Renzukan and Kinshou. "It's beautiful," she said, crimson eyes still scanning the village in awe.

By the time they had actually reached the small village the sun was starting to fall out of sight. The bright orange and pink hues of the evening sky were all the more enchanting when seen over thie particular village's buildings. 'Renzukan-san, keep her safe. I like this one.' Kinshou's thoughts were transferred to the samurai by way of a rough nudge on the back of his knee before the bear disappeared behind one of the buildings, fulfilling the task set to him by Renzukan.
'Good boy.' the samurai thought. He glanced at the female accompanying him and gave her a soft smile. "The people here are nice. You'll like them a lot." he commented as they started down the busiest street in town, which by comparison, was a rather empty street in Kyoto. Renzukan enjoyed the small-village atmosphere that this place had to offer. Not to mention he had a few friends here.

Andra's eyes were still wide and full of wonder, so she reached over as he started walking and took his hand, walking beside him. Normally, this would be extremely frowned upon and gossiped about, but Andra didn't care. She was in a little kid mindset due to the beauty of the village, and she didn't want to end up getting lost.
"They're nice?" she asked curiously. Even when wondering around in Kyoto all alone - which she was sure Renzukan would skin her for if he ever found out - no one was really all that nice to her. She was always in disguise so they didn't know it was her, but regardless. "That's good..." the Shogun whispered, staying close to Renzukan, not even noticing that Kinshou was now gone.

"Very nice. In fact-" The samurai's sentence was interrupted as something came flying across the street. It was a ball; probably made of some animal hide, and it was being chased by a dozen little kids, all screaming and shouting at each other in a playful tone. The samurai's hand never even moved for his sword. He was cautious and it had caught him slightly off-guard, but something about this town made it easier to relax.
Entering a small shop that faced the main street, Renzukan bowed to the owner. "How are you Jinchu-dono?" The young man, probably a few years older than Renzukan, bowed in return. "Ah! Look who's come for a visit!" His expression had turned into that of suprise and happiness at the appearance of a formerly frequent customer. "A good improvement on the company you keep too, eh? No longer hanging around that smelly bear. And you've found such a fine replacement as well." The bartender motioned toward Andra.

Andra giggled at the children and followed Renzukan, looking around the small shop that he led her into. She heard the man, and simply hid behind Renzukan, blushing slightly. it seemed that in her child-like mindset, she was shy.
"... No longer hanging around that smelly bear. And you've found such a fine replacement as well."
Andra stuck her head out and waved shyly, biting back a comment about 'that smelly bear'. She loved Kinshou. She kept her small smile on and then wondered absently if he recognized who she was. She kinda hoped not.

"Jinchu, got bad news for you. Kinshou's in town too. He's just off on his own." Renzukan moved to the bar and took a seat, pulling the chair beside him out for the shogun to sit as well if she wanted. Jinchu was a handsome man, tanned from his hard work out in the field. He gave Andra a knowing smile before turning his back to them. When he turned back around he held a small platter, on which sat a bottle of sake and two small cups.
"Will this do you, or are you hungry as well tonight?"
Renzukan tipped his head in the general direction of a stove in the back. "What do you have on the stove tonight?" It didn't really matter to the samurai. Jinchu's cooking was among the best he'd ever had and what he cooked didn't seem to effect that.
"It's my specialty. I call it Katon."

Andra blinked, and licked her lips. Renzukan had saved her from seeming overly rude, so she sat down in the chair and looked at the sake. She hadn't had sake in a while, but she could hold her liquor if she had to. She blinked and nodded, not really paying all that much attention, moving the necklace she never took off towards her mouth to absently toy with it, not quite putting it in her mouth, but just moving it around on the chain.

Jinchu just chuckeled as he brought over two bowls of his stew. "Y'know Ren-dono; I wouldn't have thought the Shogun would be so shy. Does she think I'll bite?" The smiling Jinchu turned to face her again. "Believe me Miss, I'm safer to be around than that bear of his."
Renzukan sighed softly, pouring a glass of sake for himself and Andra. "Don't mind him Andra-chan. He and Kinshou got into a scuffle a while back and he's still bitter about it. Jinchu; honestly, what did you expect to happen when you took a fish from the bear?" Both men laughed, Jinchu a bit louder than Renzukan.
"So what brings you and your Mistress to our little village?" Jinchu seemed genuinely interested in the pair now. He hand never seen Renzukan with a woman that he didn't plan to sleep with. He wondered if the young samurai was truly that bold or if he had changed at all in the past few years.

Andra blinked and then smiled. "I.. um... I dunno," she said, shrugging lighlty and pouring some of the sake into one of the cups and taking a sip. She liked how casual Jinchu was with her. "I like Kinshou," she said softly before looking at the man and then the stew.
"It smells wonderful," she said softly before looking at him again with a smile. "We were out and Renzukan-kun mentioned the village and how good the food was. I got curious," she stated, taking a bite of the stew with a smile. "He was right."
