History:
Musashi hails from the Banshu (or Harima) Province of Honshu. He was introuduced to the ways of the blade at an early age by his father, Munisai, who was a skilled Juttejutsu master.
His father trained him in the art of the sword and jitte. He taught the young Musashi in the unique jitte technique of the Miyamoto clan. At the age of seven. Musashi was adopted by his uncle, Dorinbo. Dorinbo educated him in Buddhism and grammar (reading and writing).
He wrote about his later exploits as a teenager and the beginning of his career as a wandering duelist: "I have trained in the way of strategy since my youth, and at the age of thirteen I fought a duel for the first time. My opponent was called Arima Kihei, a sword adept of the Shinto ryu, and I defeated him. At the age of sixteen I defeated a powerful adept by the name of Akiyama, who came from the province of Tajima. At the age of twenty-one I went up to Kyoto and fought duels with several adepts of the sword from famous schools, but I never lost."
Disagreeing with the war-like endeavors of his shogun, Miyamoto left his home of Honshu. Musashi is currently wandering the lands of Japan in search of battles and adventure. For money and shelter, he is occasionly found under employment as a mercenary for various lords and daimyou. Although he does these jobs for living expenses, he never takes a job that he dislikes, a job that inflicts unnecessary pain on the poor. Through his endeavors, he also hopes to bring peace to his troubled, chaotic world.

[Influenced by the historical Musashi's battle against Sasaki Kojiro and SW2]
The blades of grass gently licked at Musashi's calves and knees as a fragrant breeze passed through the area. His oversized bokken was clutched in his right hand and gleamed with a clean wooden finish. His opponent stood on the opposite side of the grass expanse with keen eyes and a nodachi in hand. The enemy blindly charged at Musashi and this was his fatal mistake. Before the man could strike down with the weapon, the oversized wooden blade was implanted in the skull of Miyamoto's rival. The blade, loosened from the man's grip, dropped and was lost in the abyss of grass. The man looked up into Musashi's eyes, wide-mouthed at the fear of his immanent demise. The nodaci wielder fell to his knees in a medley of pain and disappointment. Musashi loosened the booken from the crevice in the man's skull. He turned his back to the man and was once again consumed by reality. The crowd was screaming all around him, some happy with his victory and some not. Ignoring the estatic crowd that surrounded the expanse, Musashi lefted his bokken to the heaven and proclaimed to himself, "One day this sword will work to preserve life..."
