History
Born into the noblest clan of all the land, Hiko was waited on hand and foot from birth. He hated every minute of it. Being the first son of the Shogun meant that he was the next in line. People had already begun to worship him (per orders of his father of course) when he was only four years old. At first he was amazed by it, but eventually, it got old. When walking around with his father, they would address him as if he had already been crowned the Shogun. Being a Shogun meant that he would need to be able to defend his own country. Even though he was very quick witted, the sword was his first true love. His father believed that this was the most important part of being a Shogun. The ability to fight. Placing a sword in Hiko's hand as soon as he was able to walk, Hiko did everything with it. Instructors flocked in to teach the young Shogun to be skilled in their art. Learning almost every martial arts style possible, he eventually surpassed every man that he had called his sensei. Hiko would challenge anyone to fight him at any time to keep himself sharp. He had even perfected his own style of fighting
Hiko had the best scholars from around the world as teachers. He was being groomed to take the position when his father passed, and he didn't mind the education. It helped him stay away from the crowds. Very mature for his age, Hiko was able to hold a conversation on diplomacy at the age of six. At the age of seven, Hiko would sit in on the meetings his father held with the countries council. Despite their strong disagreement with the fact that he was there, it was something they had to do. After meetings, is father would ask him how he did and Hiko would offer his constructive critcism. At first, the man would simply shrug off the advice of his child, but when he began to listen, he would implement the ideals of the boy and found them efficient. Hiko was full of knowledge and was considered a genius. When he was only thirteen, people would come to him for advice no matter if it were putting a toy back together or mapping out a battle strategy. A lot of people questioned the fact that he was a general by the age of fifteen, but after holding a conversation with him, they understood that sometimes age was not always the best thing to look at. Wise beyond his years and a fighter, Hiko was the perfect person to lead the army of his father. Wanting to do what none of the other countries had done, he put together a naval fleet and began to "conquer" the other little islands that were around them. There weren't many battles, more diplomacy if anything as he made a confederation of islands that all operated under Shikoku.
Now twenty-one...While away, his father fell deathly ill. Hiko received word of his fathers illness and returned from his conquest. With his father laying on his deathbed, they had their last moments together. After talking about all of the hunting, fishing, and traveling they did together, his father made the decree that he was to be named the Shogun. Hiko, cried for days after the passing of his father. People belived that he had left the country due to him going into seclusion for almost two months. Upon returning, he was back to his normal self and ready to lead his people.
