Name: Jinsei, Mukei (Spiritual Life)
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Country: Kyushu
Rank: Monk
Personality: A brutal, worldly man, he doesn't fit the stereotypical image of the passive, or pacifist, cleric. Disregarding basic Buddhist principles, he smokes like a chimney, drinks like a fish, gambles, swears like a sailor, and generally follows his own path.
Mukei is a cold, rational thinker and somewhat aloof. Arrogant and short tempered, he nonetheless prefers to remain above the melee unless the situation is desperate. He is strongly opinionated, and despite his terse demeanor, highly moralistic and quick to defend the weak.
Mukei is egotistical, haughty, and sometimes easily irritated, but he also has calm judgement, unwavering intensity, and surprising charisma, which draws people to him, though he would rather shoot them down for going near him. Because of his duties to his monastary, he is forced to go through several stacks of paperwork daily, and does everything he can to avoid it. This is suspected to be the reason why he isn't quite sane, though there are several other factors.
Despite all this, Mukei is soft-hearted and is often seen protecting small children or animals; everyone else, he figures, can take care of their own selves and don't deserve his help.

Weapons:
His primary weapon is a 5-foot long katana, which he wields as well as any samurai and is rarely without in combat; when out of combat (he rarely is in combat), the katana is kept in a back room. A secondary "weapon" is the holy sutra he carries on his shoulders, the Maten Sutra ("scripture of darkness"). Last but not least, he's often quick to whip out his harisen (paper fan) and whack his way through the occasional interparty conflict.
Family: None.
Pet: N/A for now.
History: Found in the reeds near a temple, Mukei was raised ato be the next Genjyo Priest of Japan (there is one in Japan, one in China, one in Korea, and one in Vietnam) and was thus treated harshly, more so than he should've been due to the jealousy his elders had of him; who was this boy, found in the reeds of a river, to become the Genjyo!? They had been there their entire lives and weren't considered for the role, and as soon as he appeared, he was given it! This caused them to secretly abuse him when his master wasn't looking.
At the age of 10, Mukei was ready to become the Genjyo through an intricate ceremony, of which he flew through with ease. It was only when he approached his final trial that he faltered; to become the new Genjyou, he had to kill the previous. After his elderly master provoked him into battle, and he easily killed his master, though he forever regretted it. When he was 13 years old, Mukei discovered a young girl and, helping her out, named her Koinu, as she reminded him of a small puppy. As they grew older, Mukei helped her find a teacher and, to this day, is her informant; he abuses his role as a Genjyou priest and feeds her necessary information, though he often 'charges' her with sweets.

Added Information That I Felt Like Giving:
- Mukei has low blood-pressure.
- Mukei is ambidextrous, which makes him more 'holy'.
- Mukei is a VERY picky-eater; he puts mayonnaise on sashimi and in ramen (which he likes luke warm/stale) and honey on umeboshi (pickled plums).
- Mukei has VERY bad eye-sight, and needs glasses to see anything. Without them, he can barely see his hand in front of his face in perfect lighting.
- Mukei is fond of small animals, especially kitsune (foxes), which is considered heretical.
- Because of his weight, Mukei is often nagged at to eat more, as people think he has an eating disorder. This is odd, as Mukei has an insatiable sweet tooth.
