Koinu blinked and turned her gaze to him. She knew she couldn't always be their protector, and they could fend for themselves, but she felt it was her duty. She was somewhat famous around wolves; she was one of the few humans they could trust because they had raised her. "What's that?" Koinu asked, watching him. Byakko had finally stopped attempting to bathe Mukei and jumped down. The fox was now attempting to shift into the monk.

The darkened monk sneered evilly, walking up to her and bending his knees so their faces were at the same level.
"Bring me the bodies of those hunters, and we can skin them and post their flesh at the entrance to the mountain with a humble little sign saying 'Hunters are not Welcome'. That should ensure that their will be less attacks on the wildlife here and give them a sense of security." Standing up straight, the man looked down on his former charge, smiling in a way that could be mistaken as innocent and beautiful, but the words that had come out of his mouth mere seconds earlier ruined the effect. "What do you think of my plot?"

Koinu blinked and then gave a much wider smirk, revealing her fangs, which she practically never let anyone see. She just didn't like the questions she got from them, which was the only reason she didn't like people looking at them. "It's wonderful," she stated. Byakko had managed to turn into a smaller form of Mukei, but he still had his ears and tail. He ran around on two legs happily. Honestly, he looked like Mukei's son with a half-canine mother.

Mukei smirked darkly, before he looked down at the kit and, raising an eyebrow, picked him up gently. Shaking the mini-me like he was a small baby, Mukei referred to the small kit in a conversational tone.
"Tell me, little one, what do you think? Do you want the big bad assholes to leave you and your family alone? If this works, you can run free and not have to worry about death waiting for you behind the tree in front of you." Looking at Koinu, Mukei paused and carefully worded his next thought to the girl. "If this works, I will be sure to give you your just rewards......... how about 10 ryo?"
[whisper=koinu]Ryo are the gold pieces of feudal Japan.... One ryo generally equals the amount of $20 or more, depending on the state of the country.[/whisper]

Koinu giggled as Byakko clapped and laughed. He couldn't form understandable words in his form, but he could laugh. He almost sounded like Mukei too. Koinu blinked and looked at Mukei whenever he directed his words to her. "Hmm? Oh, you don't have to pay me for doing something I'd gladly help you with. I'm not the only one who will help you with it though," Koinu informed him. She grinned slightly as she pushed her hair out of her face. He knew about the species Ketsueki Inu (Blood Dog), but Koinu had yet to show - or tell - him that she had one of her own now.

Mukei
Mukei shook his head, placing his hand on the kit's head, stilling him in his movements. He knew Koinu wouldn't be the only one helping him, but that didn't mean that he wasn't going to pay her still. If this worked, he would owe the shinobi quite a bit, not only money, but the life of the mountain would be in her debt as well.
"I insist, and there's nothing you can do about it." Mukei stated with a definite tone, making it known that Koinu wouldn't be able to do a thing about it.

As Mukei put his hand on Byakko's head, the fox's ears went down. Koinu blinked, oblivious to what her helping her bretheren would mean. She, after all, didn't do it for the money or for the fame. She only did it because those were her kin, in a sense. She frowned, but then nodded. "Alright," she said, shrugging. She knew that he wasn't going to let her say otherwise. "Oh... I have someone I think you would like to meet," Koinu stated, pulling out a knife.

Mukei stared at Koinu blankly, resisting the urge to take the knife and go kill a few people.
"I'm sorry, but at this time, I'm not interested in meeting the Buddha, Koinu." The monk drawled, somehow curious to see who the girl wanted him to meet. It was obvious that it was a new partner, but how would she summon it? Stab the knife into the ground and chant something, or was there something else?

Koinu giggled as he mentioned meeting Buddha. "I'm not that good," she stated, rolling her eyes. She took the knife and cut a single line going down her palm, wincing slightly. She then held her palm parallel with the ground. It looked like a river of blood was flowing from her hand. The blood then pooled into a black dog with what looked like horns, and blood all over his paws. Koinu smiled at Mukei as she let her blood drip from her hand. She'd take care of it later.
"This is my new companion! He's a Ketsueki Inu named Shuurajou. You've... heard of the Ketsueki Inu, right?" she asked, watching as the canine sat down and watched Byakko with before he looked up at Mukei.

Mukei stared down at the dog in silent awe, already loving the dog. Kneeling in front of the dog, Mukei looked him over in astonishment and joy. Of course he'd heard of the Ketsueiki Inu! What decent monk hadn't?! But to think he'd ever see one.... Mukei could now die a happy man.
"Of course...." Mukei held his hand out for the inu to sniff and identify him, and decide if he wanted anything to do with the wayward Genjyou. "How did you meet this lovely creature?" Mukei asked silently, still trying to wrap his mind around it.

Koinu covered her mouth to stifle a giggle as Shuurajou watched Mukei and then sniffed his hand. The scent of the monk's blood was wat the Ketsueki Inu picked up. With one nod of his head, Shuurajou accepted the monk. "He was being starved and caught the scent of my blood," Koinu said, answering Mukei's question. "I fed him, and he stayed with me."

"Ah...." Mukei muttered, running his hand over the inu's head. "I'm sure this one is a magnificent companion, now isn't he?" Mukei looked up at the girl and tilted his head in slight curiousity. "What are their names?"

Koinu offered a smile and then reached out to pet the canine, who let her. "I already got to them," she stated. Shuurajou then moved his head and licked where she had cut her hand, which had still been bleeding. The blood stopped, though the wound was still there. "If I had a favorite, I think he'd be one of my favorites," she said, smiling. Byakko wiggled his tail and then shape-shifted into a smaller Ketsueki Inu, then tried to growl at Mukei, only to have it come out sounding adorable.

Mukei smirked and poked Byakko on the nose, letting the kit know he wasn't afraid. If anything, he would die even happier having been killed by a Ketsueki Inu. Grabbing Koinu's hand, Mukei used some of his chi to heal her wound.
"I think he's already my favorite..." Looking down at Byakko, he snorted. "You've got competition, squirt." Mukei teased, knowing that the two were actually tied for being his favorites.

Shuurajou looked at Byakko and put one blood-red paw onto the kit's head. The fox's ears went down and he put his head down. Koinu giggled and then clenched and unclenched her fist. He always helped her, and the shinobi couldn't help but feel slightly unappreciative. He continued to teach her and help her, by giving her the information she needed, but she didn't really get any sort of chances to repay him. She knelt down and scratched Shuurajou's ears. She'd get to repay him with these heads, at least. Byakko shook his rear as Shuurajou released the kit.
